Is a free zone right for you?

Good fit, and when to choose mainland

Free zones suit consultancies, e-commerce, trading with clients outside the UAE and holding structures. If you plan to sell directly to UAE customers or bid for government work, a mainland licence is usually the better route.

How long does a free zone setup take?

In a typical free zone company setup, most licences are issued within a few working days once documents are in. The full route, including visas, Emirates ID, corporate tax and bank account, usually runs over a few weeks. Your adviser gives you a timeline at the start.

Not for the licence. Many of our clients start remotely from India, the UK, Europe and the GCC. You will need to be in the UAE for the medical test and Emirates ID biometrics.

Visa quota depends on the free zone and the package you choose, including whether you take a flexi-desk or an office. We recommend the package that fits your hiring plan.

Free zone companies trade freely inside their zone and internationally. Selling directly to UAE mainland customers usually needs a distributor or an additional permit. We explain the options for your activity.
